Moab Fun

The second weekend of April in 2021 was a fun one for us- we got take the recently RLD Design and iKamper Skycamp 2.0 equipped 2021 Jeep Gladiator to Moab!

We absolutely loved the additional storage space the Jeep Gladiator has compared to our tried and true Toyota 4Runner. We discovered quickly that we need to upgrade our kitchen organization, so we ordered a Chuck Box Camp Kitchen to help. We truly fell in love with the Tortuga Off-road cooler slide, which also has an attached cutting board. Between the tailgate and the cooler slide, we had a fully equipped outdoor camp kitchen!

We started out the trip by taking the Jeep on two amazing trails- Fins N’ Things and Hell’s Revenge. We were impressed with the Gladiator’s off road competency- it felt like a mule deer loaded down with our camp equipment, and was totally willing to go wherever we wanted. Of course, we also came to realize that the Jeep needs more ground clearance- so bigger tires and a suspension lift are in order.

Enough about vehicles and toys- we need to talk about how amazing Moab is. When you come into town, no matter how many times you’ve been, you feel like you are in a certain Disney movie all about cars. The canyon walls swallow you in their majestic beauty, and the La Sal mountains peek above the surreal landscape. Our campground (which was a large group campsite) was perched right above the Colorado River, and had beautiful sunset vistas.

Moab is a place of outdoor hobby magic. Everywhere you go, people are outside doing things- rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and off-roaring. It’s amazing to be amongst the people that love the outdoors as much as we do. We spent an entire day experiencing the legendary Poison Spider trail using a friend’s rental UTV- and everyone on the trail had a giant smile on their face no matter what they were doing or what they were driving.
