Hey there! I know it’s been a really long time since there’s been a blog post here- to be frank, things just got hectic and this blog moved to the back burner. No more, I say!! I want to provide some updates, some exciting developments, and make sure that you all know (not that there’s anyone there) that I am committed to keeping this blog updated on a weekly basis.
So first, let me provide some updates. I suppose I need to re-cap where we were at the last time I posted here in the early summer- Get Out There Colorado (GOTC) was a fledgling endeavor that had two “units,” a 2021 Jeep Gladiator named Sarge and a 2021 Forest River E-Pro camper trailer named Cruz. The summer was busy with rentals for Sarge and Cruz. In fact, it was so busy that another vehicle came on board to GOTC- a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon- a JK in Jeep parlance (JK refers to the internal Jeep model code). His name is Big Green, and here he is!

Big Green has unleashed a passion in me and has changed the direction of GOTC quite a bit. I found myself way more interested in 4-wheeling on difficult obstacles on trails like Spring Creek outside of Georgetown, Colorado and Poison Spider Mesa outside of Moab, Utah. I also found myself wanting to contribute to the Jeep enthusiast community in another way- a YouTube channel and an active Instagram account. I was inspired by great YouTube content creators like Brad with TrailRecon and Brittany/Kevin with LiteBriteStudios. So, what does a person do with all of this newfound passion??
You take all of your existing camera gear (which consists of an iPhone, a GoPro, and a shared drone with a friend), and you hit the trail. My first set of videos are rough around the edges- think horrible transitions, lack of music, and lack of cinematic clarity, to name a few! However, I have kept my nose to the video-editing grindstone and I feel as though my content is improving. What I’ve learned is- put whatever you have out there- striving for perfection leads to paralysis. So what if I only get eight views on my YouTube premieres? I’m putting it out there, and everyone starts somewhere, damnit! So- if you are reading this, I think you should go check out GetOutThereColorado on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNvhH9I5PkUUmOh0R56q9uw and make sure to click like, subscribe, and comment!
Now that my incessant self-plugs are over- I want to write about what the future holds. I’m planning on some big and exciting trails with Big Green that will be documented via video and loaded onto YouTube- think Moab, Arizona, Wyoming, Baja, and some other places! I’m already making Big Green even bigger- a new Dynatrac ProRock 44 front axle, a bigger lift, new beadlock wheels with 37″ or even 38″ tires on them. So, needless to say the future is bright and full of adventure for GOTC.
Speaking of GOTC, what’s the future for the rental side? Well, Sarge went away to CarMax because of a ridiculous offer. So, a new vehicle will have to take Sarge’s place in the lineup. I’m not sure when or what that will be- but I’m thinking about GX460s, 4Runners, Wranglers, and even the new Ford Bronco. A new side of the GOTC business will be using Big Green as a 4X4 tour vehicle and providing people with an exciting off-road adventure that they can’t get anywhere else- crawling big rocks while enjoying breathtaking mountain views. I’m going to try and develop my video editing work and create amazing content for those who go on the GOTC Adventure Tours (I just came up with that name!).
Oh, and one last thing- I need to get some merch, as they say in the business! I want to have t-shirts, hats, beer cozies (ok, maybe not that one…) so that I can spread GOTC into the collective minds of everyone who loves outdoor adventures, vehicles, and cool gear. Soooo….that’s all I have to say this week. Stay tuned for next week- I promise I will keep this blog going so that I can provide some sort of entertainment for you!

Merch is cool.
